Just Honey

One ingredient. Crystallized honey. That's it.

The honey crystallized naturally—got grainy and hard the way honey does when it sits. Instead of warming it back to liquid, we jar it as crystals. Those crystals scrub off dead skin. No added sugar. No added oils. Just what happens when honey sits long enough.

It smells like honey because it is honey. When you scoop it out, it feels like damp sand. Rub it on damp skin and the crystals dissolve. Rinse with warm water and there's no sticky film—just skin that feels softer and smells faintly sweet.

People use this on their face. Some use it as a mask—leave it on for twenty minutes, then rinse. Others keep it by the shower for body. It works everywhere because there's nothing in it that would irritate skin.

Face or Body

  1. In the shower, scoop some into your palm. Rub it on damp skin—face, body, wherever. The honey crystals scrub off dead skin and dissolve as you work.
  2. Rinse with warm water. Pat dry.
  3. For a face mask: Apply to damp face. Leave it on for twenty minutes. The honey sits on your skin doing whatever honey does. Rinse with warm water.

Keep the jar out of the shower when you're not using it. Water gets in and turns the crystals back to liquid honey.

What’s Inside?

  • The Original Honey Body Scrub (11oz): 100% pure crystallized honey. No additives, no fragrance, no oils. Just honey that crystallized.

Why Crystallized Honey?

  • One Ingredient: Honey. Nothing else. The crystals formed naturally when the honey sat.
  • Works on Face: Gentle enough for facial skin. Some people only use it on their face.
  • No Sticky Residue: Rinses clean in warm water. Doesn't leave a film.
  • Doubles as Mask: Leave it on for twenty minutes. Rinse. Skin feels softer.
  • Glass Jar: Keep it out of the shower when you're not using it. Water gets in and dissolves the crystals.
  • Sensitive Skin: No fragrances, no dyes, no preservatives. Just honey.

The Original Honey Body Scrub FAQs

Why is the honey grainy and hard?

That's just what honey does when it sits long enough. Pure honey crystallizes naturally over time because the glucose in it comes out of solution and forms fine crystals. Some honeys crystallize within weeks, others take months or years, depending on the floral source. Most producers warm crystallized honey back to liquid before jarring, but this product leaves it as crystals on purpose. The grainy texture is exactly what makes it work as a scrub.

Can I really use this on my face?

Yes, that's part of the point. The crystals are fine enough not to scratch facial skin, and there's nothing in the jar besides honey, so no fragrance, no preservatives, no oils that could trigger reactions. Apply it to damp skin in gentle circles, avoid the eye area, and rinse with warm water. Some people use this product only on their face. Others split it between face and body. Either way works because there's nothing about the formula that limits where you can use it.

How does the honey face mask work?

Apply the crystals to damp skin and, instead of rinsing right away, leave them on for about twenty minutes. The honey mostly dissolves into a thin sticky layer as it sits. Rinse with warm water afterward and pat dry. Honey has been used as a skin treatment for a long time for good reason: it holds moisture, has gentle antibacterial properties, and feels calming on tight or irritated skin. That's not a clinical claim, just what people who use it as a mask report.

What happens if water gets in the jar?

The crystals dissolve back into liquid honey. That's not dangerous, but you'll lose the scrub texture, and the jar gets hard to scoop from. Keep it on a counter or shelf rather than inside the shower itself, and use a dry hand or a clean spoon when you take some out. If the jar does get watered down, the honey is still perfectly fine to use, it just won't function as a scrub anymore. You can spread it on toast at that point.

Does honey expire? How long will this jar last?

Honey itself doesn't really expire, which is one of its more remarkable properties. Properly stored pure honey can last for decades and stay edible. The practical answer for this jar is closer to a year or two of regular use, mostly because the crystal texture shifts over time and any water contamination from shower use will eventually break it down. Keep the lid sealed when you're not scooping, store it away from direct heat, and you'll get plenty of use from it.

Is this safe for sensitive skin?

For most sensitive skin types, yes. There's no fragrance, no essential oils, no preservatives, no dyes, no exfoliating particles besides the honey crystals themselves. That's about as short an ingredient list as you'll find in body care. The real exception is people with honey or bee-product allergies, which are rare but worth taking seriously. Patch test on the inside of your wrist first if you've had reactions to natural products before, and discontinue if irritation occurs.

How often should I use a body scrub?

Two or three times a week is the sweet spot for most people. Skin needs time to rebuild between exfoliations, so daily use can leave you feeling raw rather than smooth. If you're working on a specific rough patch, you can spot-treat it more often, just keep the rest of your routine on the gentler schedule. People with sensitive skin often do better at once a week. The goal is skin that feels softer afterward, not tight or stripped.

Should I scrub before or after I shave?

Before, every time. A scrub lifts dead skin and softens the hair, which means the razor glides instead of dragging, and you get a closer shave with fewer bumps afterward. Scrubbing post-shave on freshly bare skin is asking for irritation, especially if you nicked yourself anywhere. The sequence is scrub, rinse, shave, rinse again. Then follow with a body butter or oil while skin is still damp.
