Pine. Fir Balsam. Cinnamon. Citrus.
Walk through a pine forest in December and break a branch off a fir tree. That sharp green smell mixed with cold air—that's the base of this candle. Then someone's baking something with cinnamon and orange peel nearby.
Winter Forest Luxe smells like actual evergreens, not Christmas tree air freshener. There's pine and fir balsam with real resin bite. Cinnamon, clove, nutmeg warming it up. Orange cutting through the green. It's woods plus kitchen, outside plus inside.
This is the bigger version of our Winter Forest jelly jar candle. Same scent, lasts 75 hours instead of 30.
Well-loved by the writers at the Washingtonian Magazine.
For the Long Winter
Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn. Let it burn until the wax melts all the way to the edges—takes about 90 minutes the first time. Stops tunneling.
Don't burn it for more than 3 hours at a time. Let it cool completely before moving it.
Keep it away from curtains, wrapping paper, anything that could catch. Don't leave it burning when you're not in the room.
When there's about 1/2 inch of wax left at the bottom, stop burning it. Wash the tumbler with hot soapy water. Use it for something else—it's good glass.
