Wake Up Your Skin, Wake Up Your Day

This isn’t just a scrub—it’s a ritual. Imagine peeling an orange in the morning, the sharp mist of citrus oil waking your senses before your first sip of coffee. That’s the feeling this scrub delivers.

What Makes Our Citrus Blossom Body Scrub Special?

  • Orange blossom and geranium essential oils: Both from the flower, not synthetic fragrance. The orange blossom brings the citrus brightness; the geranium keeps it grounded and floral rather than sharp. The scent fills the shower and stays faintly on skin after rinsing.
  • 79% organic ingredients: Cane sugar, sunflower oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter are all certified organic. Honey crystals — dried honey, cane juice, and molasses — add texture alongside the sugar.
  • Built for rough patches: Heels, elbows, knees, backs of arms. The sugar crystal size and oil ratio are suited for skin that gets dry and stays that way.
  • Pairs with Citrus Blossom Body Butter: Use the scrub first on damp skin, rinse with warm water, then apply the body butter while skin is still slightly damp — the oils absorb best then and the citrus scent carries through.
  • Hand-poured in Owings Mills: Made in small batches in our Maryland facility, checked for scent strength and texture before it ships.

Pair it with the Citrus Blossom Body Butter for the full routine.

How to Use: In the shower or bath, scoop a small amount and work into damp skin in circular motions. Focus on rough patches — heels, elbows, knees. The sugar dissolves as you scrub. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Follow with Citrus Blossom Body Butter while skin is still slightly damp. Use within six months of opening and store away from heat and direct sunlight. External use only. Discontinue if irritation occurs.

Citrus Blossom Body Scrub FAQs

What does Citrus Blossom smell like?

Bright citrus with a soft floral edge. The blend is real citrus essential oil and geranium, so the scent reads clean and fresh rather than sweet or sharp. Citrus carries the main note. Geranium adds a faint, slightly green floral that keeps the citrus from feeling like a cleaning product. The whole thing smells like spring, the kind of bright that makes you open a window. Strongest for the first twenty minutes after applying, then settles into something faint that stays on skin for a few hours.

Will using a citrus body scrub make my skin sensitive to the sun?

Not this one. The essential oil here is orange blossom, which comes from the flower of the bitter orange tree and doesn't contain the compounds (called furocoumarins) that cause citrus-induced sun sensitivity in oils like cold-pressed bergamot, lemon peel, or lime peel. Orange peel oil and orange blossom oil are different ingredients, and only the peel-derived versions raise photosensitivity concerns. You can use this scrub before heading outside without worrying about uneven sun reactions. Sunscreen is always a good idea regardless.

What's the difference between orange blossom oil and regular orange oil?

They come from different parts of the same tree. Orange peel oil, sometimes labeled sweet orange or just orange essential oil, is pressed from the rind of the fruit and reads bright, sharp, and unmistakably citrus. Orange blossom oil, also known as neroli, is steam-distilled from the flowers of the bitter orange tree, and it reads softer, slightly sweet, with a floral-honeyed quality. They're related but not interchangeable. This scrub uses the blossom version, which is why it doesn't smell like kitchen cleaner.

Does this pair with the rest of the Citrus Blossom collection?

Yes. The Citrus Blossom Body Butter is the natural follow-up after the scrub: rinse, pat dry, then apply the butter while skin is still slightly damp so the oils absorb properly and the citrus scent carries through. Beyond the body care, the Citrus Blossom collection includes Orange Blossom honey from Florida groves and a Ruby Red Grapefruit candle that lives in the same general scent territory without being identical. They share a family resemblance rather than matching exactly.

How often should I use a body scrub?

Two or three times a week is the sweet spot for most people. Skin needs time to rebuild between exfoliations, so daily use can leave you feeling raw rather than smooth. If you're working on a specific rough patch, you can spot-treat it more often, just keep the rest of your routine on the gentler schedule. People with sensitive skin often do better at once a week. The goal is skin that feels softer afterward, not tight or stripped.

What's the difference between a sugar scrub and a salt scrub?

Sugar dissolves as you work it into damp skin, so the texture eases off the harder you press. That makes it gentler than salt for most body areas and especially for anyone with sensitive skin. Salt scrubs stay coarse the whole time and can sting if you've nicked yourself shaving. Our scrubs are sugar-based for that reason. Cane sugar exfoliates, then rinses cleanly without the stripped feeling some salt formulas leave behind.

Should I scrub before or after I shave?

Before, every time. A scrub lifts dead skin and softens the hair, which means the razor glides instead of dragging, and you get a closer shave with fewer bumps afterward. Scrubbing post-shave on freshly bare skin is asking for irritation, especially if you nicked yourself anywhere. The sequence is scrub, rinse, shave, rinse again. Then follow with a body butter or oil while skin is still damp.

How long does an opened jar of body scrub last?

About six months once the seal is broken. The oils stay stable longer than that in theory, but the scent and texture are best in the first half-year, and you'll feel the difference. Store the jar away from direct sunlight and out of the steamy splash zone in your shower; a shelf or caddy works better than the tub edge. If you notice the smell going off or the oils separating in a way that won't stir back together, it's time for a new one.
