Sage+Pomegranate Luxe Soy Candle

Sage+Pomegranate smells like cracking open a pomegranate over the sink while a bundle of fresh sage from the garden sits nearby — bright, juicy fruit colliding with green, earthy herb. The pomegranate hits first, sweet and tart and full of life, then the sage settles underneath to keep things from going candy-sweet. A base of cashmere wood adds depth and a soft, grounded warmth without making the candle feel heavy. The end result is a garden-fresh scent — actual fruit and actual sage, not fruit punch and not scented lotion. Customers describe it as fresh, balanced, and a little unexpected in the best way.

Neither, and that's the whole point. We sometimes call this the "Switzerland of candles" because it works for two normally-opposed audiences. People who avoid fruity candles burn this because the sage and cashmere wood keep the pomegranate grounded. People who avoid herbal candles burn it because the pomegranate brightens the sage and stops it from going dry. The two notes balance each other instead of fighting. Same scent, different size and vessel. The Jelly Jar is 6oz, $18, and burns about 30 hours in a simple glass jar. Luxe is 10oz, $35, burns about 75 hours, and comes in a smoke-tinted glass tumbler with our custom Bee Inspired emblem — polished enough to stay visible on an entryway table, kitchen counter, or living room shelf.

Our 10oz Luxe candles have about a 75-hour burn time when burned properly. The biggest factor is the first burn — let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the tumbler (about 90 minutes) before blowing it out, or the candle will tunnel and waste a lot of wax. With a clean first burn and proper wick trimming, 75 hours is realistic. Retire the candle when about ½ inch of wax remains in the tumbler.

Three things make the biggest difference. First, trim the cotton wick to ¼ inch before every light — long wicks cause smoke and uneven burning. Second, on your first burn, let the wax pool reach the edges of the tumbler (about 90 minutes) so the candle doesn't tunnel. Third, keep individual burns to 3 hours maximum and let the candle cool completely before moving it. Burn on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, pets, and anything flammable. Retire the candle when about ½ inch of wax remains.

Reuse it. Once the wax is gone, wash the smoke-tinted glass tumbler with hot soapy water and put it back to work. The tumbler features our custom Bee Inspired emblem and is polished enough to keep visible — customers use them as catchalls for jewelry, makeup brushes, pens, or as small bud vases. The 10oz vessel is bigger and more decorative than our jelly jars, so it tends to find a permanent second life. We're not big on single-use anything, and these are too good to toss.
