Issue 5 - August 2023
Allow yourself the gift of a reboot. Just like everything else in life, sometimes all we need is a little time to reset and recharge. I know I tend to keep “too many windows and documents open” in my head – and heart.
I recently took a few days off to escape to the serene beauty of the Berkshires.
Walking through the New England forest transported me back to my youthful days spent in the Maine woods with my grandparents. In those simpler days, with few responsibilities, I didn’t have so much on my mind or my to-do list. Magically, I was able to recreate that unencumbered feeling. The gentle warmth of the 80s, the rustling leaves, the birdsongs – how idyllic.
In the Berkshires, my husband and I indulged in good food, restful sleep, and pure relaxation. However, getting back into the swing of my daily routine this week hit me hard and I crashed after work last night. Perhaps I've been pushing myself too constantly.
So, I’m taking charge – for myself and our amazing staff.
For the past year, we've stuck to store hours from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday. While it has served us well on occasion, it hasn't always gone according to plan. So, for now, we've decided to close on Sundays and grant our team the opportunity to reset and begin anew on Monday. During peak seasons we will reopen on occasion. Please watch our social for announcements.
And, don't worry – our website remains open around the clock, and we're more than happy to accommodate private parties, events, and even afternoon bee talks by appointment. If you have a group of six or more and want to book an event at our Honey House, simply give us a call at 410-363-2200.
Embrace the chance to reset and rejuvenate. Find fresh inspiration and make the most of every moment.
