A Flavorful Gift from Honeybees and Wildflowers

Our latest harvest of Greenspring Wildflower Honey is a delight from the apiary - it’s rich and sweet, with a warm flavor profile and tasting notes of anise, black cherries, and roasted nuts, thanks to the bees collecting nectar from various flowers. This honey comes from the nectar of very late-season wildflowers - ones that produce dark, flavorful nectars, like hyssop, asters, and Autumn clematis. This diverse selection of wildflowers contributes to the honey's bold flavor. Rich in native pollens, and 100% pure and raw.

Raw wildflower honey is a delightful type of polyfloral honey, crafted by bees that collect nectar from a diverse array of wildflowers. This natural, raw honey is celebrated for its rich flavor and aromatic qualities, with each batch offering a unique taste experience. Unlike monofloral honey, which is derived from a single flower species, wildflower honey captures the essence of multiple flowers, making it a favorite among honey enthusiasts. The bees’ journey through various blooms results in a honey that is as complex and varied as the landscapes it comes from, ensuring that no two jars are exactly alike.

Wildflower honey’s versatility makes it a staple in both culinary and wellness routines. Its natural sweetness and complex flavor profile make it an excellent addition to teas, smoothies, and baked goods. It can also elevate salad dressings and marinades, adding depth and richness to your dishes. Beyond the kitchen, wildflower honey’s antibacterial and moisturizing properties make it a fantastic ingredient in homemade skincare products and natural remedies. Whether you’re drizzling it over yogurt, stirring it into your morning coffee, or using it in a DIY face mask, wildflower honey is a versatile and beneficial addition to your daily life.

Note: Our Wildflower Honey is pure, raw, and unamended, and may crystallize as a result. This is to be expected of natural honey and does not impact the usability of the product.

Ingredients

Pure, raw, minimally filtered honey

Raw wildflower honey is a delightful and natural product sourced from the nectar of a diverse array of wildflowers across various geographic regions, including North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Each region offers a distinct flavor profile based on its native flora. For instance, North American wildflower honey often includes hints of goldenrod and aster, while European varieties might feature thyme and citrus blossoms. Asian wildflower honey brings exotic notes from lychee and acacia, and African honey captures the essence of baobab and eucalyptus. In contrast, clover honey is known for its light color and mild flavor, distinguishing it from the darker, bolder taste of wildflower honey. This honey is typically harvested by placing beehives in or near abundant wildflower areas, where bees forage freely to produce quality wildflower honey. Beekeepers then harvest the honey using gentle methods to ensure it remains raw and unpasteurized, preserving its natural enzymes and flavors. The result is a rich, aromatic honey that reflects the unique character of its region of origin. The wildflower honey taste is rich and complex, varying based on the specific flowers from which bees collect nectar, offering sweet and brown sugar flavors with distinct layers.

Wildflower honey is renowned for its rich, complex flavor and aroma, which can vary significantly with each harvest. This variability is influenced by factors such as seasonal rainfall and spring temperatures, making each batch a unique sensory experience. The color of wildflower honey ranges from light amber to dark amber, with darker honey generally offering a bolder flavor. This diversity in color and taste makes wildflower honey a delightful treat for those who appreciate the nuances of natural honey. Each jar is a testament to the ever-changing beauty of the wildflowers from which it is sourced.

OMG!

Kara’s Spring honey has always been my favorite but I’ve got to tell you this Wildflower honey is right up there on my list! It has an unbelievable “bouquet” and flavor that just shouts FLOWERS! I don’t believe I have ever eaten a flower before but if I did I imagine it would taste like this honey! No wonder the deer like to eat the flowers in the yard!
Trust me - you’ve got to try this one! 😃😋🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
