Grateful on One Side. Thankful on the Other.

Flip it over and it says something different. One side of this cherry wood board is engraved “grateful,” the other “thankful,” so it works for the cheese course on Thursday and the bread board on Sunday, and nobody has to pick which word they mean.

That’s the idea behind The Grateful Table, our charcuterie board gift for the season when every invitation comes with a table attached. The board is medium-toned cherry, made by Words with Boards. With it comes a jar of Cranberry Blossom honey from the Massachusetts bogs where cranberries grow, light and a little tart, the kind of honey that belongs next to aged cheddar. A jar of Cider + Spice loose leaf tea for after the plates are cleared. A box of cinnamon honey candy for whoever lingers by the board.

The honey runs out. The tea runs out. The board stays on the counter for years, one word up, one word down.

What Makes Our Grateful Table Special?

  • Two Words, One Board: “Grateful” on one side, “thankful” on the other, and both sides are food safe for serving. Flip it for the occasion, the guest list, or the month.
  • Cherry Wood: A 12.5" x 9.5" board in medium-toned cherry, made by Words with Boards. Big enough for a real cheese course, small enough to pass down the table.
  • Massachusetts Cranberry Honey: An 11 oz jar from bees working cranberry blooms in Massachusetts bogs. Minimally filtered, jarred by hand in Owings Mills, and Star-K kosher certified.
  • For After the Plates: A 3.6 oz jar of Cider + Spice loose leaf tea, rooibos with cinnamon, dried apple, and calendula petals, plus a 3.5 oz box of cinnamon honey candy made in the USA with local honey.
  • A Charcuterie Gift Set That Lasts: Everything edible gets eaten by New Year’s. The board is the part they keep.

Bring the board to dinner and leave it behind on purpose.

Perfect for: The Thanksgiving host who says not to bring anything. Your client list in December. The new neighbors, the in-laws, the friend who always ends up with everyone in her kitchen. Anyone setting a table between now and New Year’s who would rather keep a gift than regift it.

The Grateful Table Charcuterie Board Gift FAQs

What comes in The Grateful Table?

Four things, packed together. A 12.5" x 9.5" two-sided cherry wood board from Words with Boards, “grateful” on one side and “thankful” on the other. An 11 oz jar of Cranberry Blossom honey from Massachusetts. A 3.6 oz jar of Cider + Spice loose leaf tea. And a 3.5 oz box of cinnamon honey candy. The board is the gift. The rest is what goes on it.

Does the board say “grateful” or “thankful”?

Both. One side reads “grateful” and the other reads “thankful,” and either side works as the serving surface, so you choose which word faces the room. Some people keep “thankful” up through November and flip to “grateful” for December parties. Others flip it depending on who’s coming to dinner. One board doing the work of two.

Where does the cranberry honey come from?

From Massachusetts, where cranberries grow in bogs and bloom for a short window in early summer. Beekeepers move hives into the bogs for that bloom, and the honey the bees make there is light in color with a gentle tartness. We minimally filter it and jar it by hand in Owings Mills. It’s Star-K kosher certified, like all of our honey.

What cheeses go with cranberry honey?

Start with anything sharp or salty. Aged cheddar, manchego, and a wedge of blue all welcome a drizzle of something light and a little tart, which is exactly what Cranberry Blossom honey is. It also works on warm brie with toasted walnuts. Set the jar right on the board with a small spoon and let people help themselves.

Is this gift set kosher?

Part of it is. The Cranberry Blossom honey is Star-K kosher certified, like all of our honey. The cinnamon honey candy is not kosher certified, so we don’t sell The Grateful Table as a kosher gift. If you’re giving to someone who keeps kosher, a honey-only gift is the better pick.

How should I store the honey and the candy?

The candy is best within a year and should be finished within three months once the box is open. Humidity is the enemy: the drops will stick together if they sit out. Keep the box closed and away from the stove or a sunny windowsill. Honey doesn’t spoil, and it may crystallize over time, which is normal for real honey.
