Pumpkin Spice, Actually
Victoria lights it in October, the first night the air turns cold. Waits 15 minutes. Blows it out. Pours the warm oil into her palm and works it into her hands, then her elbows and heels.
This isn’t the pumpkin spice that smells like a candle aisle. It’s a pumpkin spice massage candle: soy wax blended with shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax, scented with cinnamon, clove, and warm spice essential oils. It melts into actual massage oil. The kind that sinks in and doesn’t leave your sheets greasy. People use it after raking leaves. After the first fire of the season. On the night the heat comes on and the air in the house goes dry.
The jar has a pour spout, so the oil goes where you want it and not down the side. No dyes. It comes boxed, which makes it an easy thing to bring to Thanksgiving instead of another bottle of wine.
What Makes Our Autumn Harvest Massage Candle Special?
- The scent: Cinnamon, clove, and warm pie spices from an essential oil blend. It fills the room while it burns and settles to a quiet spice on skin.
- What’s in the wax: Soy wax, shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter. These are the oils and butters used in body balms for their emollient properties.
- Low melt point: Formulated to melt at a lower temperature than regular candle wax, so it pours warm, not hot. Always test a drop on your wrist first.
- A pour spout that works: The redesigned jar lets you control where the oil goes. No pouring from a hot jar at an awkward angle.
- Goes a long way: You easily get four full-body massages from one 5.6 oz candle. More if you’re only doing hands and feet.
- Dye free: The color you see is the color of the wax, butters, and spice oils. Nothing added to make it look like fall.
- Handmade in Maryland: Made by hand in small batches at our Owings Mills facility with a cotton wick. We test every formula and smell every batch.
Light one the first night you turn the heat on.
How to use: Light the candle and let it burn until a pool of melted wax forms, about 15 minutes and no longer. Blow it out, wait about 30 seconds, and test a drop on the inside of your wrist. Everyone’s heat tolerance is different. Once it feels right, pour the oil into your hand and massage it in wherever you like. It spreads best on damp skin, right after a shower or bath. Use within six months of opening and store away from heat and direct sunlight.
Cautions: Do not burn for more than 15 minutes before use. Past 15 minutes, the wax and jar may become too hot for safe skin application. Cinnamon and clove oils can feel warm on sensitive skin, so always test first. External use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Autumn Harvest Pumpkin Spice Massage Candle FAQs
What does the Autumn Harvest Massage Candle smell like?
Real cinnamon and clove essential oils with warm pumpkin pie spices. Not the synthetic pumpkin spice from a mall candle store, and not the sugary coffee shop version. Closer to what your kitchen smells like an hour after the pie comes out of the oven: warm, a little woody, gently sweet. The scent fills the room while it's burning and softens to a quiet skin scent once the oil is on you.
Is the Autumn Harvest Massage Candle only good in fall, or can I use it year-round?
Most people light it from October through March, when the air dries out and regular lotion stops being enough. The scent feels seasonal but the formula doesn't (the shea, coconut, and beeswax blend works on dry skin in any season). If you love the smell of warm spices, there's nothing stopping you from using it in July, though the scent does pair better with cold weather and wool socks.
Will the Autumn Harvest Massage Candle help with cracked elbows, knees, and heels?
This is what it's built for. The wax leans heavy on shea butter and cocoa butter, blended with coconut oil, olive oil, and beeswax. Pouring it warm gets the oil into cracked skin where regular lotion sits on top and rubs off on sleeves and bedsheets. Use it after a shower on damp skin, work it into the worst spots, and give it a few minutes before pulling on socks or sleeves.
Are the warming spices in the Autumn Harvest Massage Candle safe for sensitive skin?
Cinnamon and clove essential oils can occasionally feel warm or tingly on very sensitive skin (this is the nature of those oils rather than a flaw in the formula). Always test a drop on the inside of your wrist first, especially if you've reacted to cinnamon-based products before. If you notice any irritation, discontinue use. For very sensitive skin, the Rose Garden or Peace of Mind massage candle may be a softer choice.
What is a massage candle and how is it different from a regular candle?
A massage candle burns down into warm massage oil rather than just throwing a scent. The wax is soy blended with shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter (all skin-safe at low temperatures). You light it, let a pool of melted wax form, blow it out, and pour the warm oil into your hand. Regular candles use harder waxes that stay too hot for skin contact.
How do I use a massage candle safely?
Light the candle and let it burn until a pool of melted wax forms (about eight minutes for Rose Garden and Autumn Harvest, about fifteen for Peace of Mind). Never burn it longer than fifteen minutes before use. Blow it out, wait thirty seconds, and test a drop on the inside of your wrist. Everyone’s heat tolerance is different. Once it feels right, pour the warm oil into your hand and massage it in wherever you like. Works best on damp skin, right after a shower or bath.
Is the wax actually safe to put on my skin?
Yes. The wax is a skin-safe blend of soy, shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter (the kind of oils you'd find in a good body butter). It's formulated to melt at a lower temperature than regular candle wax, so it pours warm rather than hot. Always test a drop on your wrist first, since heat tolerance varies. For external use only. Discontinue if you notice any irritation.
How long does a massage candle last and how should I store it?
Use it within six months of opening. The plant oils and butters that make the wax skin-safe also mean it has a shorter shelf life than a regular candle (where wax is the only ingredient). Store away from direct sunlight and heat, which can change both the texture and the scent. Each 5.6oz candle gives you at least four full-body massages, and more if you’re only using it on hands and feet.
What can I do with the jelly jar once the candle is finished?
Reuse it. Once the wax is gone, wash the 6oz jelly jar with hot soapy water and put it back to work. It’s the right size for sugar, tea bags, paper clips, hair ties, bobby pins, spare buttons, loose change, jewelry, or a tea light. Some customers use them as bud vases or tiny salt cellars on the kitchen counter. We’re not big on single-use anything, and the jars are too solid to throw out.
