For Chocoholics Who Want to Bathe in It.
This isn’t just body butter—it’s dessert for your skin. A rich, decadent indulgence that smells like real dark chocolate. Not that syrupy, fake nonsense. We’re talking 70% cacao, slightly bitter, mixed with cocoa butter and honey for a sweetness that’s sophisticated, not saccharine.
What Makes Our Haute Cocoa® Body Butter Special?
- Dark chocolate fragrance oil: A skin-safe fragrance oil, not actual chocolate — but formulated to read as real dark chocolate: slightly bitter, warm, not artificial or candy-sweet. The scent carries through application and lingers on skin for hours.
- Extra cocoa butter: More organic cocoa butter than the other body butters in the line. Makes the formula thicker in the jar and better suited for spots that get very dry — heels, elbows, knees, hands.
- Sweet almond oil and coconut oil: Almond oil absorbs eventually; coconut oil adds richness. The formula is intentionally thicker — rub it in until it's no longer shiny, about thirty to sixty seconds.
- Real honey: Bee Inspired honey goes into the formula alongside the fragrance oil.
- 90% natural ingredients: Mostly oils, butters, water, and honey. Contains preservatives to maintain shelf stability.
- Hand-poured in Owings Mills: Made in small batches in our Maryland facility, checked for consistency and chocolate scent strength before it ships.
Best on hands, elbows, knees, and heels — places that crack in cold weather and stay dry.
How to Use: After showering, pat dry but leave skin slightly damp. Scoop a quarter-sized amount — more than you think you need — and warm it between your palms until it softens. Apply to dry spots first: elbows, knees, heels, hands. Rub in until the skin is no longer shiny, about thirty to sixty seconds. Use within six months of opening and store away from heat and direct sunlight. External use only. Discontinue if irritation occurs.

Haute Cocoa® Body Butter FAQs
What does Haute Cocoa smell like?
Real dark chocolate, not the syrupy candy version. The scent reads like 70% cacao, slightly bitter, with the warmth of cocoa butter and honey underneath. There's no caramel, no vanilla syrup, no almost-mocha confusion. Just dark chocolate. The fragrance carries through application and lingers on skin for hours. People who don't usually wear sweet scents often pick this one because the bitterness keeps it from going too sugary. People who love chocolate end up wearing it as their everyday scent.
Why is Haute Cocoa thicker than the other body butters?
More cocoa butter in the formula. We use a higher ratio of organic cocoa butter than the other body butters in the line, which gives this one more density in the jar and more staying power on skin. The trade-off is absorption time. Plan on thirty to sixty seconds of rubbing it in rather than the twenty to thirty most of the line takes. The thickness is what makes it work better on the spots that need the most help: cracked heels, dry elbows, knees that look gray by February.
Is the chocolate scent from real cocoa?
The cocoa butter in the formula is real, but the chocolate scent comes from a skin-safe fragrance oil. Cocoa butter on its own smells faintly chocolatey but not enough to read as dark chocolate on skin. The fragrance oil was developed to capture the slightly bitter, warm quality of 70% cacao without the candy-sweet edge most chocolate body products have.
Where on my body should I use Haute Cocoa?
Anywhere, but it pulls its weight on the spots that crack and stay dry: hands, elbows, knees, and heels. The thicker formula was built for those areas. You can use it all over arms, legs, and shoulders too if you like the scent, but it absorbs faster on softer skin and you'll go through the jar quicker. A lot of people keep this one bedside for hands and feet at night and use a lighter butter (Nectar+Honey or Place in the Sun) for daytime arms and legs.
How is body butter different from regular lotion?
Texture and staying power. Lotion is mostly water with a small amount of oil suspended in it, which is why it absorbs in a second and disappears just as fast. Body butter is mostly oils and butters with less water, so it takes a little longer to sink in but keeps skin feeling softer for hours. Ours is whipped to a lighter consistency than most body butters, which is why it absorbs in thirty seconds instead of leaving a heavy film. Use both if you want: butter after the shower, lotion for midday top-offs.
How do you apply body butter for best results?
Apply right after showering while your skin is still slightly damp. Scoop a small amount, warm it between your palms until it softens, then work it into skin in circular motions. The damp-skin step matters because warm, slightly wet skin lets the oils absorb faster and locks in more moisture. Concentrate on rough spots like heels, elbows, and knees. The whole thing should sink in within twenty to sixty seconds depending on the formula. If your skin still looks shiny after a minute, you used too much.
Will body butter leave my skin feeling greasy?
Not the way these are formulated. The texture is dense in the jar but built to melt on contact with warm skin and absorb in twenty to thirty seconds. You can apply, get dressed, and not transfer butter onto your shirt. The trick is using less than you think you need. A quarter-sized scoop covers arms or legs. If your skin still looks shiny after a minute, scale back next time. Most people find one jar lasts longer than expected once they get the amount right.
How should I store body butter and how long does it last?
Keep the jar away from direct sunlight and heat. A bathroom shelf is fine; a sunny windowsill is not. Once you open a jar, use it within six months for best texture and scent. Body butters can soften in summer heat and firm up when it's cold. Both are normal. If yours melts in a hot car, let it set back up at room temperature and stir if needed. The formula is still good, just briefly less photogenic.
