The Toner That Isn’t

MSM isn't a plant. It's methylsulfonylmethane—organic sulfur that shows up naturally in things like pine trees and tomatoes. Your body already has it. Your skin can use more.

We mix MSM with coconut water powder and banana fruit powder, add some preservatives so it doesn't spoil, and bottle it in our Owings Mills facility. The result is this clear mist that your skin drinks up fast.

What Makes Our MSM Mist Special?

  • MSM plus coconut and banana powders: Methylsulfonylmethane is an organic sulfur compound that occurs naturally in pine trees, tomatoes, and other plants. Combined with coconut liquid endosperm powder and banana fruit powder, the formula delivers conditioning ingredients without fragrance or filler.
  • Not a hydrosol: Unlike the Bayberry Leaf Flower Water, this is a formulated mist — mixed and pH-tested in our facility rather than steam-distilled from a plant. The ingredients are chosen for what they contribute to the formula, not for scent.
  • Works multiple ways: After cleansing before moisturizer. Before makeup as a base layer. Mid-day when office air gets dry. After the gym on face, chest, or back of neck. On arms and shoulders anywhere skin feels tight.
  • Layers without interference: Use it alone or under serums, facial oils, or moisturizers. Doesn't pill or interact with what goes on after it.
  • Small batch, Owings Mills: Mixed by hand in our Maryland facility. pH levels checked every batch.

Keep one at your desk — it works as a mid-day reset as well as it does in a morning skincare routine.

Spray onto face after cleansing with eyes closed. Let it sit for a few seconds before adding serum, oil, or moisturizer. For body use, spray onto arms, shoulders, or anywhere that feels dry or tight. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat. Use within six months of opening. External use only. Discontinue if irritation occurs.

MSM Mist Facial Toner FAQs

What is MSM, and what does it do in a face mist?

MSM stands for methylsulfonylmethane, an organic sulfur compound that occurs naturally in plants like pine trees and tomatoes. Your body already contains it. In a topical mist, MSM acts as a humectant and conditioning ingredient, supporting hydration and helping the skin feel comfortable rather than tight. It carries no scent of its own, which is why this mist is unfragranced. The result is a clear toner that absorbs quickly and layers under whatever comes next.

Why isn't MSM Mist called a flower water or hydrosol?

Because it isn't one. The Lavender and Bayberry Flower Waters are steam-distilled in our Owings Mills lab from plants grown on our Maryland farm, with two ingredients each. MSM Mist is a formulated toner: MSM, coconut liquid endosperm powder, banana (Musa sapientum) fruit powder, sodium lactate, glycerin, and a small set of gentle preservatives, mixed and pH-tested by hand in the same facility. The ingredients are chosen for what they contribute to skin, not for scent.

How do I use MSM Mist?

Close your eyes and spray onto a clean face after cleansing. Let it sit for a few seconds before applying serum, facial oil, or moisturizer. As a midday reset, mist over makeup when office air gets dry. After the gym, spray onto face, chest, or the back of your neck. For body use, mist arms, shoulders, or anywhere skin feels tight. It layers cleanly without pilling and works as the first step in a routine or as a standalone refresh.

Will MSM Mist interfere with my other skincare?

No. The formula is designed to layer. Spray it on clean skin, give it a few seconds to absorb, and follow with whatever your routine calls for. It doesn't pill under serums, sit oddly under sunscreen, or react with retinols, acids, or vitamin C the way some fragranced toners can. Because there is no added fragrance, it is also a reasonable choice if you tend to react to scented products.

Does MSM Mist have a scent?

Almost none. The formula contains no added fragrance and no essential oils. If you bring the bottle to your nose you might catch a faint, slightly sweet note from the coconut and banana powders, but it doesn't carry on skin or linger in a room. People who find traditional toners and mists too perfumed often prefer this one for exactly that reason. It is a working product rather than a sensory one.

Is MSM Mist safe for sensitive skin?

This formula is friendly to sensitive skin. No fragrance, no dyes, no essential oils, no alcohol, and a short ingredient list built around humectants and gentle preservatives (caprylhydroxamic acid, glyceryl caprylate, citric acid). That said, sensitive skin is personal, so patch test on your inner arm before applying to your face. If you have specific allergies, coconut for example, check the full ingredient list before ordering. For external use only.

Where is MSM Mist made?

Mixed, pH-tested, and bottled by hand in our Owings Mills, Maryland facility. Same lab where we distill the Lavender and Bayberry Flower Waters and pour our soy candles. Small batches, checked at every step. Every bottle is filled and labeled in-house, then dated. Same facility, same standards, same people. Our retail store is at the front of the building, and the lab sits behind it, so you can see the operation when you visit.

How long does MSM Mist last after opening?

Use within six months of opening. Store it out of direct sunlight and away from heat. The formula uses gentle preservatives (caprylhydroxamic acid, glyceryl caprylate, and citric acid) rather than parabens, so cool, dark storage matters more than it would with a heavily preserved drugstore toner. A bathroom shelf away from the shower spray, a nightstand, or a desk drawer all work well. External use only. Discontinue if irritation occurs.
