The Tea That Says “I’m Awake, But Make It Gentle”
This is the tea you grab when coffee feels like a slap in the face but you still need to get it together. Black tea brings just the right amount of caffeine—enough to wake you up, but not enough to make you jittery. It’s like a nudge, not a shove.
Then come the extras: rosehips for a little tang (but not the sour kind that makes you pucker), dried raspberry pieces that actually taste like fruit (not some weird candy version), and cornflower petals that make your cup look like it belongs in a fancy café. Do the petals change the flavor? Nope. But they’re pretty, and sometimes that’s reason enough.
What Makes Our Good Morning Tea Special?
- Loose leaf, not dust: Whole leaves and real fruit pieces steep cleaner and taste fuller than the ground tea in most bags. You can see exactly what's in the jar.
- Medium caffeine, well-balanced: Not herbal, not decaf. The black tea base provides a moderate caffeine level — noticeably less than coffee, enough for mornings.
- Rosehips for tartness: They add brightness without making the cup sour. A natural counterbalance to the sweetness of the raspberry.
- Real dried raspberry: Actual fruit pieces, not flavoring. The raspberry comes through hot or iced, and it tastes like the fruit.
- Works both ways: Brew hot for breakfast. Brew strong and pour over ice when it's warm out. The flavor holds either way.
- Small-batch blended in Owings Mills, MD: Packaged in glass that keeps the tea from absorbing fridge odors or going stale.
If you keep a jar next to the coffee maker, you probably won't stop reaching for it.
Brewing Instructions: Brew hot: 200°F, 1 tsp per 8oz, steep 3–5 mins. Drink black or with milk. For stronger tea, use 1.5 tsp and steep 5 mins (no longer to avoid bitterness). Iced: 2 tsp per 8oz, steep 5 mins, cool, and pour over ice. Add honey for sweeter fruit notes.
All of our teas are gluten-free, although not all of our teas, botanicals, and other ingredients come from gluten-free certified suppliers.

Good Morning Black Tea FAQs
How much caffeine is in Good Morning Tea?
Roughly half of what you'd find in an average cup of drip coffee. Good Morning Tea has a medium caffeine level from its black tea base. Enough to wake you up, not enough to leave you jittery. Exact content varies based on how much leaf you use and how long you steep. More leaf and a longer steep means more caffeine. Less leaf and 3 minutes of steeping gives you a lighter cup.
What does Good Morning Tea taste like?
The black tea base is bold and slightly malty. Rosehips add brightness and a mild tartness, not sour, just enough to keep the cup from going flat. Real dried raspberry pieces contribute actual fruit flavor, not the candy-sweet approximation you find in some flavored teas. The cornflower petals are purely visual and don't change the taste. The overall character is recognizably black tea with a fruity edge, not a fruit drink.
Can I drink Good Morning Tea iced?
Yes, and it works beautifully iced. Brew double-strength (2 teaspoons per 8oz of hot water), steep 5 minutes, let it cool to room temperature, then pour over ice. The rosehip and raspberry come through cold just as clearly as hot. The blend holds up to the dilution from melting ice better than a standard-strength brew would. A little honey stirred in while the tea is still warm rounds it out.
What's in Good Morning Tea besides black tea?
Rosehips, dried raspberry pieces, and cornflower petals. The rosehips bring brightness and tartness. The raspberry pieces are real fruit, not flavoring, and contribute a soft natural sweetness that pairs well with the black tea. The cornflower petals are there for the visual, a cup of black tea with deep blue specks throughout. They don't change the flavor. You can see every ingredient in the jar before you brew, which is the point of loose leaf.
Are your teas gluten-free?
All of our teas are naturally gluten-free. The catch is that not all of our teas, botanicals, and other ingredients come from gluten-free certified suppliers, so we can't make a certified gluten-free claim on the label. For most people that's a non-issue. If you have celiac disease or a severe gluten sensitivity, factor that in before ordering. We'd rather tell you straight than dress it up.
Do you offer a discount on multiple jars of tea?
Yes. Mix and match any 3 or more jars from our tea collection and save 15% at checkout. The discount applies whether you're stocking your own cabinet, splitting jars with a few friends, or putting together a gift set. Our blends are packaged in small batches in Owings Mills, Maryland, and the variety holds up well over time when stored properly. Try a few. They play well together.
How should I store loose leaf tea?
Keep the jar sealed and store it in a cool, dark cabinet away from the stove, the fridge, and anything strongly scented. Tea absorbs odors easily, and light and heat dull the flavor over time. Skip the fridge entirely. Condensation does no favors to dried leaves or flowers. Stored properly in its glass jar, your tea stays fresh and full-flavored for a year or more.
Why loose leaf instead of tea bags?
Tea bags are typically filled with broken leaf and tea dust. Quick to brew, fast to turn bitter, limited in flavor complexity. Loose leaf gives the leaves and ingredients room to unfurl and release their character gradually. You also get to see exactly what's in the jar, whether that's whole flowers, real dried fruit, or full leaves. It's a small change in how you brew. The cup tells the difference.
Are your teas vegan?
Yes. None of our teas contain honey, dairy, or any animal-derived ingredients. Every blend is plant-based: tea leaves, herbs, flowers, dried fruit, and spices. If you add honey from our shop to your cup, that's no longer vegan since honey is an animal product, but the loose leaf tea on its own is. The same goes for milk or cream you might add yourself. The jar is vegan. What you do with it is up to you.
