The Tea That Says “I’m Awake, But Make It Gentle”

This is the tea you grab when coffee feels like a slap in the face but you still need to get it together. Black tea brings just the right amount of caffeine—enough to wake you up, but not enough to make you jittery. It’s like a nudge, not a shove.

Then come the extras: rosehips for a little tang (but not the sour kind that makes you pucker), dried raspberry pieces that actually taste like fruit (not some weird candy version), and cornflower petals that make your cup look like it belongs in a fancy café. Do the petals change the flavor? Nope. But they’re pretty, and sometimes that’s reason enough.

What Makes Our Good Morning Tea Special?

  • Loose leaf, not dust: Whole leaves and real fruit pieces steep cleaner and taste fuller than the ground tea in most bags. You can see exactly what's in the jar.
  • Medium caffeine, well-balanced: Not herbal, not decaf. The black tea base provides a moderate caffeine level — noticeably less than coffee, enough for mornings.
  • Rosehips for tartness: They add brightness without making the cup sour. A natural counterbalance to the sweetness of the raspberry.
  • Real dried raspberry: Actual fruit pieces, not flavoring. The raspberry comes through hot or iced, and it tastes like the fruit.
  • Works both ways: Brew hot for breakfast. Brew strong and pour over ice when it's warm out. The flavor holds either way.
  • Small-batch blended in Owings Mills, MD: Packaged in glass that keeps the tea from absorbing fridge odors or going stale.

If you keep a jar next to the coffee maker, you probably won't stop reaching for it.

Brewing Instructions: Brew hot: 200°F, 1 tsp per 8oz, steep 3–5 mins. Drink black or with milk. For stronger tea, use 1.5 tsp and steep 5 mins (no longer to avoid bitterness). Iced: 2 tsp per 8oz, steep 5 mins, cool, and pour over ice. Add honey for sweeter fruit notes.

All of our teas are gluten-free, although not all of our teas, botanicals, and other ingredients come from gluten-free certified suppliers.

Good Morning Tea FAQs

How much caffeine is in Good Morning Tea?

Good Morning Tea contains a medium amount of caffeine from the black tea base — roughly half of what you'd find in an average cup of drip coffee. Exact caffeine content varies depending on how much tea you use, water temperature, and steep time. Using more leaf or steeping longer will increase the caffeine level. Using less leaf and steeping for 3 minutes rather than 5 will result in a lighter cup.

What does Good Morning Tea taste like?

The black tea base provides a bold, slightly malty foundation. Rosehips add brightness and a mild tartness — not sour, just enough to keep the cup from going flat. The dried raspberry pieces contribute real fruit flavor, not a candy-sweet approximation of it. The cornflower petals don't change the taste; they're purely visual. The overall character is black tea with a fruity edge — still recognizably tea, not a fruit drink.

Can I drink this iced?

Yes, and it works well iced. Brew double-strength — 2 teaspoons per 8 oz of hot water — steep 5 minutes, let cool to room temperature, then pour over ice. The rosehip and raspberry flavors come through cold just as clearly as hot. The blend holds up to the dilution from ice better than a standard-strength brew would.

How many servings are in a jar?

Each 2.1 oz jar contains approximately 20 servings, based on 1 teaspoon per 8 oz cup. If you brew stronger — 1.5 teaspoons per cup — expect closer to 13–14 servings per jar.

Does it need milk or sweetener?

No, but both work. The black tea base holds up to a splash of milk without losing its flavor. A drizzle of honey brings out the raspberry and rosehip notes if you want it a little sweeter. It's also worth trying it plain first — the dried raspberry provides enough natural sweetness that many people prefer it without anything added.

Is this tea gluten-free?

Yes, all of our teas are gluten-free. However, not all of our teas, botanicals, and other ingredients come from gluten-free certified suppliers, so we cannot make a certified gluten-free claim.

How should I store it?

Keep the jar sealed tight and store it in a cool, dark spot away from coffee, spices, or anything with a strong smell. Black tea absorbs odors from its environment, and the dried raspberry and rosehips are susceptible to the same. Not in the fridge — condensation will affect the tea. A cabinet away from the stove is ideal. Stored properly, it stays fresh for a year or more.

What's the difference between this and a tea bag?

Tea bags are typically filled with broken leaf pieces and tea dust — fine enough to brew fast but prone to turning bitter quickly and limited in flavor complexity. Good Morning Tea uses whole or large-leaf pieces along with real dried fruit and rosehips. The leaves unfurl as they steep, releasing flavor gradually rather than all at once. You can also see every ingredient in the jar, which you can't say about most tea bags.

Can I buy this in bulk or as part of a set?

Yes. Buying 3 or more jars of any tea from our collection qualifies for a 15% mix-and-match discount — so you can stock up on Good Morning Tea, try other blends, or do both. We also carry tea gift sets if you're looking to give a few varieties together.
