The scrub and butter were built to layer. The scrub uses organic cane sugar with honey crystals (actual dried honey mixed in) for texture, plus sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter in the base. The butter follows with sweet almond oil, coconut oil, organic cocoa butter, and our Bee Inspired honey. Both carry the same phthalate-free honey and flower fragrance oil, so the honey base and floral top notes carry from shower through the rest of the morning without competing scent profiles.

The person who keeps a jar of raw honey on the counter, who notices the difference between supermarket honey and the kind from someone's hives, who wants their body care to smell like something they would actually eat. Sugar dissolves as you work it into damp skin, so the texture eases off the harder you press. That makes it gentler than salt for most body areas and especially for anyone with sensitive skin. Salt scrubs stay coarse the whole time and can sting if you've nicked yourself shaving. Our scrubs are sugar-based for that reason. Cane sugar exfoliates, then rinses cleanly without the stripped feeling some salt formulas leave behind.

Two or three times a week is the sweet spot for most people. Skin needs time to rebuild between exfoliations, so daily use can leave you feeling raw rather than smooth. If you're working on a specific rough patch, you can spot-treat it more often, just keep the rest of your routine on the gentler schedule. People with sensitive skin often do better at once a week. The goal is skin that feels softer afterward, not tight or stripped.

About six months once the seal is broken. The oils stay stable longer than that in theory, but the scent and texture are best in the first half-year, and you'll feel the difference. Store the jar away from direct sunlight and out of the steamy splash zone in your shower; a shelf or caddy works better than the tub edge. If you notice the smell going off or the oils separating in a way that won't stir back together, it's time for a new one.

Texture and staying power. Lotion is mostly water with a small amount of oil suspended in it, which is why it absorbs in a second and disappears just as fast. Body butter is mostly oils and butters with less water, so it takes a little longer to sink in but keeps skin feeling softer for hours. Ours is whipped to a lighter consistency than most body butters, which is why it absorbs in thirty seconds instead of leaving a heavy film. Use both if you want: butter after the shower, lotion for midday top-offs.

Apply right after showering while your skin is still slightly damp. Scoop a small amount, warm it between your palms until it softens, then work it into skin in circular motions. The damp-skin step matters because warm, slightly wet skin lets the oils absorb faster and locks in more moisture. Concentrate on rough spots like heels, elbows, and knees. The whole thing should sink in within twenty to sixty seconds depending on the formula. If your skin still looks shiny after a minute, you used too much.

Keep the jar away from direct sunlight and heat. A bathroom shelf is fine; a sunny windowsill is not. Once you open a jar, use it within six months for best texture and scent. Body butters can soften in summer heat and firm up when it's cold. Both are normal. If yours melts in a hot car, let it set back up at room temperature and stir if needed. The formula is still good, just briefly less photogenic.
