Discover the intriguing world of veganism and honey - a relationship that sparks controversy and curiosity.

Autumn honey next to honeycomb

All of our honey at Bee Inspired is ethically sourced. Our Autumn Honey in particular is from our farm in Kent Island, MD - perfect for seasonal eats!

While some vegans shun honey due to its insect origins, there is a thriving community embracing responsibly sourced honey from ethical beekeepers.

Let's shed light on the honey debate. Yes, honey is derived from plant nectar, but it undergoes a bee's essential processing, creating a gray area for many. Surprisingly, I personally know numerous vegans who happily include honey in their diets, as long as it comes from responsible sources. Rest assured, bees are unharmed during proper and responsible honey harvesting practices. Unlike dairy cows given hormones, bees naturally produce honey regardless.

Eggs are another topic of discussion. I recall a school friend who followed a vegan lifestyle but made an exception for eggs purchased from a local, caring family in our community. These chickens lived a blissful, free-range existence and laid eggs regardless of human desire. If honey doesn't appeal to you, why not substitute it with delectable maple or agave syrup?

On a more exciting note, as we enter the pumpkin season, prepare to be captivated by Marly's extraordinary and scrumptious vegan recipes!

With her creativity, Marly takes the cake - or should I say, pumpkin pie - in the realm of plant-based cooking. Let's dive into some of our favorites from her phenomenal blog.
