Baby Shower Favors That Work for Every Guest

Most baby shower favors fall into two camps. The first: cute, cheap, and forgotten in a drawer by the time the thank-you cards go out. The second: well-meaning but generic, the kind of small jar of clover honey with a personalized "Mommy to Bee" label that every guest has seen at three other showers. Neither one earns a place in someone’s actual life past the afternoon they’re received.

This guide is for the host who wants to do better than that. Every recommendation below is shelf-stable, individually portionable, made by hand at our Maryland facility, and chosen because it works for the whole guest list — including the mom-to-be herself, including guests who aren’t parents, and including the friend who flew in for the weekend and needs something that survives a carry-on.

For the broader picture across all event favors, our guide to honey party favors covers wedding, shower, and corporate options together. This post focuses specifically on baby showers, where the guest mix is unique and the best favor often has nothing to do with babies at all.

Why a Baby Shower Favor Should Work for the Whole Guest List

Here’s the thing nobody quite says out loud about baby shower favors: not every guest in the room is on the same page about babies. Some are pregnant alongside the guest of honor. Some are trying. Some are done. Some don’t want kids and are politely sitting through the cake. Some have just lost a pregnancy and showed up because they love their friend. The favor that assumes everyone is in the same season of life is the favor that misreads the room.

The favors that land hardest at a baby shower are the ones that quietly accommodate everyone. Something the mom-to-be can use during pregnancy and after the baby comes. Something the non-parent guest can use on themselves without it feeling weird. Something that says “here’s a small thing for you to enjoy” rather than “here’s a token for the occasion you’re here to celebrate.” The best baby shower favors don’t require a baby.

The Babymoon Hero: Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil

The single most differentiated favor in our lineup for baby showers is our Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil. We developed it in collaboration with the spa therapists at Cliff House Maine for their babymoon packages, and it ships with a professional baby massage booklet from their team — the kind that makes first-time parents feel less uncertain about touch.

The reason it works as a baby shower favor specifically: the oil isn’t just for the baby. Four ingredients (organic sunflower, jojoba, apricot kernel, and Bulgarian lavender) make it gentle enough for newborns and clean enough that adults with reactive skin reach for it as their everyday body oil. A guest who isn’t pregnant can use it on dry elbows after a shower. A guest who is pregnant can use it during the babymoon and then on the baby once the baby arrives. A guest who isn’t a parent at all gets a beautifully made face and body oil that smells like real Bulgarian lavender, not the synthetic version found in dryer sheets.

This is the favor that solves the “works for everyone in the room” problem better than any other product we make.

Turn the Bathroom Into a Babymoon

A babymoon, technically, is a trip pregnant couples take in the second trimester to rest before the baby arrives. The Reddit threads of pregnant women asking whether “normal people” actually take babymoons make something pretty clear: a destination babymoon at a Caribbean resort isn’t accessible for most people. The cost, the timing, the doctor’s clearance, the partner’s job — the logistics knock it out of reach for plenty of pregnant people who would still love a quiet weekend somewhere that isn’t their normal life.

That’s where a babymoon-at-home gift box does real work. The bathroom becomes the destination. A morning of bath salts, a quiet evening with a candle, a body butter routine, a cup of tea — the goal is the same as a destination babymoon (rest, reconnection, a pause before everything changes), and the venue happens to be free. For a baby shower, gifting the components of a babymoon-at-home makes the celebration extend past the afternoon of the shower itself.

Products from our self-care collection that work especially well for this:

  • The Lavender Experience Set. Our most calming lavender-line ritual in one box. The full bathroom-to-babymoon experience without having to assemble it yourself.
  • The Rose Garden Gift Set. Built around organic Rosa Damascena rose petals and rounded out with lavender oil. The right pick for a mom-to-be who responds to floral over herbal.
  • The Mama to Bee Gift. Built specifically for pregnancy and the early weeks after. The most explicit babymoon-at-home gift in the lineup.
  • The Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil. Use it on yourself during the babymoon, on the baby once the baby is here.

For a guest who wants to take it a step further: invite a massage therapist into the home for the morning of the babymoon. The room is already set up, the oil is already on the counter, and the moment becomes something the mom-to-be remembers a year later when her baby is teething at 3 a.m.

Under $15: Individual Favors That Land

If you’re the host coordinating individual favors for a guest list of fifteen or twenty, this tier is where most of your shopping will happen. Each option below is shelf-stable, individually wrapped or jarred, and small enough to slip into a thank-you bag without complicating the favor table.

  • Honey body butter party favors at $12 in your pick of four scents. The Citrus Blossom for spring and summer showers, the Rose Garden for floral baby-girl-themed showers, and the Peace of Mind with its lavender profile that ties into the baby shower aesthetic. Each is a single-serve jar in its own muslin bag, sold in 6-packs.
  • Honey body scrub party favors at $12 in the same three scents. The Peace of Mind with Bulgarian lavender and citrus for showers leaning into the babymoon-at-home angle. The Citrus Blossom with orange blossom and geranium for spring and summer showers. The Rose Garden with real dried rose petals visible in the jar for floral baby-girl-themed showers. Each is a single-serve 2oz glass jar in its own muslin bag, sold in 6-packs.
  • Bee’s Knees tea party favors for the caffeine-avoiding mom-to-be and her guests. Bee’s Knees is made from honeybush leaves — naturally sweet, caffeine-free, and the rare tea that lands well with both serious tea drinkers and people who don’t usually drink tea. The 6-pack format at $7.50 per favor scales easily to the typical baby shower guest count.
  • A single honey party favor at $7.50 each. One 3oz jar of raw honey in a rustic muslin drawstring bag, sold in 6-packs. Star K kosher certified. The classic format if you want to keep the favor table simple.
  • Our best-selling plastic-free honey lip balm. USDA Certified Organic, in a fully biodegradable plant cellulose tube. Genuinely useful, genuinely used. The favor that ends up in glove compartments and bedside drawers, not in the bottom of a junk drawer.
  • The Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil at the favor table. Substantial enough to feel like a real gift, gentle enough that no guest feels weird taking one home. The professional baby massage booklet is the differentiator that makes this favor stand out from any other shower you’ve been to.

$20 to $40: A Single Considered Gift

This tier is for the guest who wants to bring something thoughtful for the mom-to-be specifically, beyond the favor table. Each option works as a standalone gift that signals real attention to who’s receiving it.

  • The Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil at $16 (with the booklet). A complete gift on its own — the oil, the muslin bag, the professional baby massage booklet. Useful from pregnancy through the first year of the baby’s life.
  • A honey lollipops variety bag at $29. One of each of our eight year-round flavors. The Lavender, Vanilla, Original Honey, and Lemon flavors are the gentle baby-shower-appropriate picks; the others stay in the bag for the mom-to-be to enjoy later. Every year-round flavor is OU kosher certified.
  • A jar of varietal honey paired with a tea blend. Pick a single jar from our Eastern Shore honey collection and add one of our loose-leaf teas. A pairing of Wildflower honey with Bee’s Knees tea is the safest universal combination for a pregnant recipient.
  • A luxe candle for evening unwinding. Single-wick, hand-poured soy candles that burn cleanly. The kind of gift the mom-to-be lights once everyone has gone home.

$45 to $75: For a Closer Friend or Sister

If you’re close enough to the mom-to-be that her baby will have a relationship with you, the gift in this tier reflects that closeness. These are the substantial gifts that the mom-to-be opens before the shower starts winding down.

  • The Petite Spring Awakening, Petite Summer Radiance, or Petite Lavender Gift Set or the Petite Nectar+Honey Ritual at $48 each. Scaled-down versions of the Experience sets, each built around a single signature scent. Match the scent to the mom-to-be: Spring Awakening for rose-lovers, Summer Radiance for citrus-lovers, Petite Lavender for the calming lavender profile, Nectar+Honey for honey-forward.
  • Honey body butter favors as a 6-pack at $72. Six body butter favors in your choice of one scent. The bridge between an individual gift and a coordinated group gift. If you’re going in with two or three other guests on a shared gift, this format works beautifully.
  • The Tea for Two Tower. Pairs two mini jars of tea (Raven Earl Grey and Bee’s Knees) with three mini jars of raw honey, all in a tower. Strong as a hostess thank-you for whoever’s throwing the shower, or as a gift the mom-to-be can share with her partner during the babymoon weekend.

Class Gifts: When Many Guests Pool Together

If multiple guests are coordinating a group gift — for the mom-to-be, for the host, or for both — this is the tier where pooled budgets stretch the furthest. Two distinct use cases:

One Substantial Gift From Many Guests

If twenty guests have each chipped in toward a single big gift, the gift can stretch in a way no individual contribution would on its own.

  • The Lavender Experience Set. The most comprehensive babymoon-at-home gift in the lineup. Every component built around the same lavender essential oil profile so nothing competes.
  • The Rose Garden Gift Set. The same comprehensive ritual built around rose petals, with lavender rounding out the blend.
  • The Berry Lovers Gift Bundle. Our berry-forward honey and tea pairing. Strong pick for a mom-to-be who already loves tea.
  • The Berry Delicious Tea & Honey Trio. Three loose-leaf teas paired with three jars of raw berry honey. Pre-tested combinations, packaged as a complete experience.
  • The Farm to Body Sack. Our larger body care bundle in a reusable canvas sack the mom-to-be will keep using long after the products are gone.
  • The Citrus Honey Body Bundle. The bright citrus version of the at-home spa experience.
  • The Fit for a Queen Gift. Our premium curated gift for the mom-to-be guests want to truly spoil.

Many Small Favors, One Order

If you’re the host and you’re trying to put together individual favors for thirteen or more guests without doing thirteen separate Amazon orders, these SKUs solve that problem in one purchase.

  • The Tea Party Favor Set of 13 at $90. Thirteen of our loose-leaf tea blends packaged individually as favors, twelve units priced and the thirteenth included. Roughly $6.92 per favor — the most affordable per-guest option in the room parent tier.
  • The Honey Favor Set of 13 at $90. Thirteen 3oz jars of raw honey in muslin drawstring bags. Star K kosher certified.
  • The honey body butter baker’s dozen at $144. Thirteen body butter favors in your choice of one scent — Citrus Blossom, Rose Garden, Haute Cocoa, or Peace of Mind.

Considerations Most Hosts Don’t Plan For

A few questions catch hosts off guard once the favor decision is made. Worth thinking about before you order.

Honey safety for infants. Established pediatric guidance recommends that honey not be given to infants under twelve months of age. If guests at your shower include parents bringing babies, plan to either set those favors aside for the parents to take home (parents can use them) or include a small note on the favor letting them know to keep it away from infants until age one.

Vegan guests. Honey is not vegan because it’s produced by bees. The Plastic-Free Honey Lip Balm and the body butter party favors also contain honey or beeswax. The Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil is vegan (no honey or beeswax in the formulation). For vegan guests, the baby oil is the inclusive pick from our lineup.

Kosher guests. All of our raw honey is Star K kosher certified. All year-round honey lollipop flavors plus the seasonal Apples and Honey are OU kosher certified. The seasonal Dark Chocolate Dipped lollipops are not kosher certified. Body butter favors and the baby oil are not kosher certified but contain only vegetarian ingredients except for beeswax in the body butter line. Every product page lists its specific certification status.

Allergies and reactive skin. Our most reactive-skin-friendly products are the baby oil (four ingredients, no synthetic fragrance) and the Plastic-Free Honey Lip Balm (USDA Certified Organic, plant cellulose tube). For a guest list that includes anyone with serious skin sensitivities, those two products are the safest picks. As with any topical product, a small patch test is appropriate before broader use.

Travel-friendly favors. If thirty percent or more of your guest list is traveling, the favors should belong in welcome bags or in a takeaway format that survives a carry-on. Honey lollipops, the baby oil, and the lip balm all travel well. Glass jars over 3.4 ounces don’t fit in carry-ons.

How Many Baby Shower Favors to Order

The standard rule for any event favor: order ten percent more favors than your confirmed guest count. For a typical baby shower, that’s about right — baby showers run smaller than weddings and the RSVP rate is more accurate, but a few extras cover the host, the mom-to-be’s partner if he attends, and a few set-asides for the mom-to-be to keep.

Concrete examples by shower size:

  • 15-guest shower: Sixteen or seventeen favors. A 6-pack of body butter favors plus two single honey 6-packs covers seventeen with one extra.
  • 25-guest shower: Twenty-eight favors. Two Honey Favor Sets of 13 covers twenty-six, plus a few individual baby oil bottles for the mom-to-be and her closest friends.
  • 40-guest shower: Forty-five favors. Three Sets of 13 (in any combination of honey, tea, and body butter baker’s dozens) covers thirty-nine, with single individual favors filling in the remainder.
  • 50+-guest shower: At this size, baby showers start to look like wedding-favor logistics. The Box of 50 honey lollipops works well for a larger guest count, or contact us through the website for bulk pricing on coordinated mixes.

Order two to four weeks ahead for any baby shower favor purchase — standard production lead time. For larger orders or for custom-tagged favors, six weeks is safer.

From Our Maryland Facility to Your Shower

Bee Inspired’s baby oil, body butters, and party favors are all hand-mixed and packaged at our facility in Owings Mills, Maryland. Our honey comes from our own hives at Chesterhaven Beach Farm on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and from ethical beekeepers across the United States and internationally. Every product on this page is genuinely small-batch, made by people who know what they’re doing, and shipped directly from us to you.

For Maryland-based hosts: yes, we have a retail location in Owings Mills and we ship locally. For showers in Bethesda, Annapolis, the Eastern Shore, or anywhere else in the state, ordering from a local artisan brand is one less thing to coordinate and one more story to tell guests about where the favor came from.

A portion of every purchase supports our Roots & Wings initiative, which directs funds toward bee conservation, environmental restoration, and youth programs in underserved communities. To date, the initiative has contributed over $340,000 to those causes.

For showers of fifty guests or more, contact us through the website to discuss bulk pricing and custom mixes before placing your order.

If you’re also shopping for the mom-to-be specifically, our Mama to Bee Gift is the most direct curation for that recipient. For broader gifting options across all occasions, our honey gift guide covers the full range.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are good baby shower favors that aren’t just for parents?

The best baby shower favors work for the whole guest list, not just the mom-to-be and other parents. Our Plastic-Free Honey Lip Balm, single honey party favors, body butter favors in your pick of four scents, and the Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil all work for any adult recipient regardless of parental status. The baby oil specifically is gentle enough for newborns and clean enough that adults with reactive skin reach for it as their everyday body oil — one product that genuinely works for everyone.

How many baby shower favors should I order?

Order about ten percent more favors than your confirmed guest count. For a 25-guest shower that’s about twenty-eight favors. For a 40-guest shower, plan on forty-five. Extras cover the host, the mom-to-be’s partner if attending, and a few set-asides for the mom-to-be to keep. For larger showers (50+ guests), our Box of 50 honey lollipops or coordinated bulk orders work better than individual favors.

Is honey safe to give as a baby shower favor?

Honey is a beautiful baby shower favor for adult guests, but established pediatric guidance recommends not giving honey to infants under twelve months of age. If parents bring babies to your shower, plan to either set those favors aside for the parents to take home (parents can use them) or include a small note letting parents know to keep it away from infants until the baby is over one year old.

What’s the most differentiated baby shower favor?

Our Bee Inspired Lavender Baby Oil is the most differentiated favor in our lineup for baby showers. We developed it in collaboration with the spa therapists at Cliff House Maine for their babymoon packages, and every bottle ships with a professional baby massage booklet from their team. Four ingredients (organic sunflower, jojoba, apricot kernel, and Bulgarian lavender) make it gentle enough for newborns and clean enough for adults with reactive skin — one product that works for the mom-to-be, the baby once the baby arrives, and every other guest at the shower.

Can I give a babymoon-at-home gift instead of a destination babymoon?

Yes, and this is one of the best uses of a baby shower gift. A babymoon-at-home gift box with a gift set from our self-care collection, a candle, bath salts, the baby oil, and a tea blend creates the same calming pause that a destination babymoon offers, without the cost or logistics of traveling. The Lavender Experience Set or Rose Garden Gift Set are the most comprehensive single-gift options for this. For a guest who wants to take it further, gifting a session with a local massage therapist alongside the at-home set turns the bathroom into a full spa morning.

Are Bee Inspired baby shower favors made in Maryland?

Yes. Our baby oil, body butters, lip balm, and all party favor packaging are hand-mixed and assembled at our facility in Owings Mills, Maryland. Our honey comes from our own hives at Chesterhaven Beach Farm on Maryland’s Eastern Shore and from ethical beekeepers across the United States and internationally. For Maryland-based hosts, ordering from a local artisan brand is one less thing to coordinate and one more story to tell guests about where the favor came from.
